WELCOME TO FARSIDE COUNSELING
My name is Amanda.

Therapy with me—whether individual, couples, or family—is all about relationships. While the modalities and approaches are important, my priority is to make sure you feel supported, heard, and cared for throughout our time together. Are you a little nervous about opening up to someone new? Concerned about saying the things you work hard to keep private out loud? Uncomfortable when the focus is on you? I totally get it. I’ve been in your seat and have built my practice on years of my own therapeutic experience and feedback from experiences of others over my 12+ years working in the mental health field with children, families, and individuals. Being vulnerable is a practice. My clients describe me as laid-back, supportive, relatable, and unafraid to use humor. I show up as myself in session and encourage all to do the same!

I am committed to creating a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive space where we can untangle life’s challenges together. Whether you are looking to find your inner voice and truth, set new boundaries, or dive into past experiences that are holding you back from experiencing joy and ease as your most authentic self, I cherish the opportunity to walk alongside you, your relationship, or your family as you seek change.
Everyone needs something a little different in session; for that reason I use an integrated approach with elements of DBT, parts work, MI, restorative practices, somatic therapy, and EMDR therapy. I always welcome feedback and encourage co-creation of the path we take to healing along the way.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with many years of experience working with adolescents, families, and individuals. I am well-versed in working with people who have experience with the justice system, caused harm, and who have been impacted by addiction. I believe that just as we are all capable of causing harm, we all too are capable of meaningful connection and transformation.
